Tunde Gill
Bachelor of Science (BSc)
Graduate Intern Counsellor
Tunde is in her final year of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She is a student member of the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). Upon completion of her education, Tunde will be pursuing the Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation with the BCACC.
Before transitioning to counselling, Tunde spent over a decade working as a Registered Nurse in Canada and the United States. Her experience includes working in acute care hospitals, as part of multidisciplinary teams, caring for patients with acute and chronic illnesses. These experiences gave her a deep appreciation for the resilience and strength of individuals navigating significant life challenges, an insight that has shaped her compassionate approach to counselling.
Tunde believes that everyone possesses inner strengths that can help them overcome life’s obstacles. As such, she supports clients with identifying the strengths that enabled them to persevere, and developing strategies to help them face difficulties going forward. Tunde is committed to creating a safe, respectful, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel respected, validated, understood, and comfortable to engage in meaningful reflection. She values each person’s unique needs, and encourages exploration of their inner world, close relationships, and personal capabilities. Within her approach, Tunde collaborates with clients as they envision positive outcomes, achieve personal growth, and work towards lasting change.
Tunde integrates interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Strengths-Based Therapy. She supports clients who may be experiencing difficulties associated with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, self-confidence issues, relationship concerns, and grief and loss.
